Secondary Maths Tutoring

Vertex Maths offers tutoring for secondary school students from Year 7 through to Year 12. Our approach is supportive, structured, and closely aligned with the student’s school curriculum.

Tutors work alongside your child’s current school program, using their textbook, classwork, and assessment schedule where possible. This ensures the sessions are relevant and directly support what they’re learning in class.

Once students feel confident with their current material, sessions can be extended to explore upcoming topics or more challenging problems. This proactive approach often boosts students' confidence and deepens their understanding before they encounter the material in class.

Our tutoring philosophy, which starts with concrete and visual learning before progressing to abstract concepts, continues through secondary school. Topics like Pythagoras’ theorem, trigonometry, calculus, or integration are introduced step-by-step, ensuring students first build procedural confidence before tackling the more abstract reasoning involved.

Much like learning to drive, students benefit from practicing the process itself before diving deep into the theory behind it. This method helps build both confidence and skill in maths.

How It Works

  1. Find a Tutor: We help match students with the best tutor suited to their level and individual learning goals.
  2. Attend Sessions: Lessons are scheduled at times that fit around school and other family commitments.
  3. Pay After Each Lesson: Payments are securely processed via Stripe after each session, with no long-term commitments.
